Cheeky as ever, Volition and Deep Silver will be re-releasing Saints Row IV in a brand new package that pokes fun at one of the latest ridiculous trend in gaming, “Game of the Year” editions. In a time when everyone thinks their game as the best of the year, no less than a dozen games get re-released with the self-appointed title.
Volition won’t hear it. Saints Row IV is the best, and it knows it, which is why the game is being re-released in a Saints Row IV: Game of the Century Edition. It has appeared on Amazon Germany, so no official announcement has been made, but given the series’ bigheaded reputation, I’ll believe it.
The $39.99 re-release comes jam packed with all the DLC released for the game, extending to:

Wow. I often have trouble reading Volition’s motives. Sometimes they come off as the low-brow comedians of the video game industry, but this constant smearing of silly industry trends has also turned them into the biggest offender. When it comes to DLC, re-releases, open-world sandboxes, and violence, who else does it more?
Publisher Deep Silver also saw a few other bits leak through Amazon like the Dead Island: Riptide – Complete Edition and Dead Island Double Pack. Again, nothing has been confirmed, so treat this as a rumor until Deep Silver speaks out. Seeing as it just confirmed that the Metro Redux box set it real, our guess is that all of these new box sets are real to boot.
