It’s no secret that Sonic the Hedgehog‘s jump to 3D has never been a graceful procedure. I can use present-perfect tense here as well because that transition into 3D still seems to be happening a full 16 years later!

However, leave it to the fans to step in and do what SEGA has yet to fully accomplish: make a 3D Sonic game that retains the speed of the classic games and yet still be both fun and controllable. This new fan game, Green Hill Paradise Act 2, fills in all the gaps that even Sonic’s best received 3D outings have failed to fill. It was made using the 3D Sonic Games Development Kit (SonicGDK), and is the product of Daniel “SuperSonic68″ Coyle’s dedication as well as many other collaborators.
