Intel Processor Instability Causing Oodle Decompression Failures - https://www.radgametools.com/oodleintel.htm
RAD has become aware of a problem that can cause Oodle Data decompression failures, or crashes in games built with Unreal. We believe that this is a hardware problem which affects primarily Intel 13900K and 14900K processors, less likely 13700, 14700 and other related processors as well. Only a small fraction of those processors will exhibit this behavior. The problem seems to be caused by a combination of BIOS settings and the high clock rates and power usage of these processors, leading to system instability and unpredictable behavior under heavy load.
Intel responds to reported laptop CPU instability problems - https://www.digitaltrends.com/comput...ds-to-laptops/
Intel is aware of a small number of instability reports on Intel Core 13th/14th Gen mobile processors. Based on our in-depth analysis of the reported Intel Core 13th/14th Gen desktop processor instability issues, Intel has determined that mobile products are not exposed to the same issue. The symptoms being reported on 13th/14th Gen mobile systems – including system hangs and crashes – are common symptoms stemming from a broad range of potential software and hardware issues. As always, if users are experiencing issues with their Intel-powered laptops we encourage them to reach out to the system manufacturer for further assistance
What Intel didn’t write on Reddit but thinks internally / The search for the solution to the Raptor Lake S instabilities continues (Leak) - https://www.igorslab.de/en/search-fo...ies-continues/
– This microcode update, once validated and released, may not address existing systems in the field with instability symptoms.
– Systems which continue to exhibit symptoms associated with this issue should have the processor returned to Intel for RMA.

Lo ultimo en la saga, salidito hoy...
There is no fix for Intel’s crashing 13th and 14th Gen CPUs, any damage is permanent - https://www.theverge.com/2024/7/26/2...pu-voltage-q-a
Will Intel issue a recall?
No.
Has Intel halted sales and / or performed any channel inventory recalls while it validates the update?
No.
Will Intel extend its warranty on these 13th Gen and 14th Gen parts, and for how long?
[No answer yet.]
Given how difficult this issue was for Intel to pin down, what proof will customers need to share to obtain an RMA? (How lenient will Intel be?)

The elevated voltages could potentially affect any 13th or 14th Gen desktop processor that consumes 65W or more power, not just the highest i9-series chips that initially seemed to be experiencing the issue.
...
How many chips does Intel estimate are likely to be irreversibly impacted by these issues?
Intel Core 13th and 14th Generation desktop processors with 65W or higher base power – including K/KF/KS and 65W non-K variants – could be affected by the elevated voltages issue. However, this does not mean that all processors listed are (or will be) impacted by the elevated voltages issue. Intel continues validation to ensure that scenarios of instability reported to Intel regarding its Core 13th and 14th Gen desktop processors are addressed. For customers who are or have been experiencing instability symptoms on their 13th and/or 14th Gen desktop processors, Intel continues advising them to reach out to Intel Customer Support for further assistance. Additionally, if customers have experienced these instability symptoms on their 13th and/or 14th Gen desktop processors but had RMA [return merchandise authorization] requests rejected we ask that they reach out to Intel Customer Support for further assistance and remediation.

https://videocardz.com/newz/intels-r...-investigation
Plus...What we know (based on official info and Intel responses to media):
Intel has admitted the instability problem and the investigation is ongoing
Intel admitted that certain batch of CPUs was affected by via oxidation issue
Intel will release a microcode update in mid-August which may or may not resolve the problem
The microcode update will not fix already degraded CPUs
Intel claims the microcode update will not affect performance
Intel is not confirming whether mobile chips (including H and HX variants) are affected
Intel will not issue a recall
Users should use Intel Default Settings, which are now included into latest BIOS updates
Intel asks users whose CPUs are affected to contact Intel consumer support

No firma.
https://old.reddit.com/r/hardware/co...y_14900k_rmas/
"IMPORTANT NOTICE: Only genuine Intel® products are eligible for warranty support, subject to Intel's limited warranty terms. Please be advised as part of Intel's ongoing efforts to prevent fraud in the marketplace, in the event the product you submit for warranty support is found to be re-marked or otherwise fraudulent product, Intel reserves the rights to retain the product and/or destroy such product as appropriate."

https://www.anandtech.com/show/21497...n-short-supply
Alongside Intel’s weak Q2 2024 earnings report and the announcement of $10 billion in spending cuts and layoffs for 2025, the company is also disclosing some new information about their chip deliveries over the first half of the year. A brief report, posted on X by analyst Patrick Moorhead and citing a conversation with Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger, revealed that Intel encountered a major production bottleneck on Meteor Lake earlier this year. The issue was significant enough to drive intel to take the extraordinary and costly step of accelerating their Ireland fab ramp-up in order to improve chip capacity.
